Kalshi's taker fee is 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), times the series multiplier (1 by default) and rounded up to the next cent, so it peaks at 1.75¢ per contract at a 50¢ price. Resting (maker) orders are free on standard series and pay a fee only on the series Kalshi lists with maker fees.
Country-by-country rules, regulator actions and sources for Polymarket and Kalshi.
This is not legal advice, and we don't say whether trading is legal for you in Turkey. We report what each platform's published rules say about Turkey and the public regulator, court and police actions we could source, each with a date. Those rules change fast, so check the platform's current terms and the law in Turkey before doing anything. ‘Not listed’ only means a platform's own list doesn't name Turkey; it doesn't mean trading there is permitted.

This page keeps two things apart for Turkey: what each platform's own published rules say, and what regulators, courts and police in Turkey have publicly done. A platform's list is its own policy and a government order is the government's, so a country can be on one and not the other.
The status labels are the same as in the main table. Restricted means the platform's own list blocks trading from Turkey. Close-only means existing users there can close positions but can't open new ones. Some regions means only named regions are restricted. Separate product means residents use a different, separately regulated product, as US residents do with the Polymarket US app. Not listed means the platform's published list doesn't name Turkey; that is not the same as permitted, and a regulator may still block the site.
Polymarket publishes two official lists that don't fully match: its Help Center page (updated August 14, 2026) and its developer docs (undated). We follow the dated Help Center list and say where the developer docs differ. Kalshi statuses follow its Member Agreement as fetched on September 24, 2026; the agreement itself is undated.
Each action shows the authority as it names itself, what it did, the platform it concerns and the date: the date of the action where it was published, otherwise the date it was first reported. Every entry is marked Official, Platform document or Secondary report. Where only secondary reporting exists, we say ‘reported by’ and name the outlet; where official sources conflict, we report both.
‘No public action found’ means our searches found none, not that none exists. Nothing on this page says whether trading is legal for you: for that, check the platforms' current terms and the law in Turkey.
Turkey does not appear on Polymarket's Help Center page on geographic restrictions (updated August 14, 2026), which lists 39 blocked countries, nor in any tier of its developer geoblock documentation (undated, fetched September 24, 2026). Under the main table's labels that is Not listed: Polymarket's own published rules do not restrict Turkey, and we found no Polymarket blog post, help article or notice that mentions Turkey.
In practice the restriction comes from the Turkish state, not the platform. Teknolojioku reported on July 21, 2026 that, after the blocking decision, the site's web interface could not be reached over standard DNS or internet connections in Turkey. Blocks of this kind are executed through the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and the Access Providers Union (ESB). We found no app-store removal for Turkey, and Polymarket's own lists do not geoblock Turkey.
Turkey is not on the list of 55 Restricted Jurisdictions in Section VI of Kalshi's Member Agreement (undated; fetched September 24, 2026), and it was not on the lists in Kalshi's Exchange Notices of October 23 and November 4, 2025. Kalshi's Help Center (updated March 20, 2026) says trading from outside the United States is subject to the Member Agreement. That gives Kalshi the label Not listed in the status card, which describes Kalshi's own list only and is not the same as permitted. We found no official publication or press report of a Turkish action naming Kalshi; the one NGO database entry we found could not be checked against the BTK record, so this page records no Kalshi action (see the next section).
Two state monopoly bodies issued the decisions against polymarket.com: the Milli Piyango İdaresi Genel Müdürlüğü (MPİ, the National Lottery Administration), which holds the monopoly on games of chance, and the Spor Toto Teşkilat Başkanlığı (Spor Toto, the sports-betting monopoly body). Blocks are executed by the Bilgi Teknolojileri ve İletişim Kurumu (BTK) and the Erişim Sağlayıcıları Birliği (ESB); the BTK's public query page records each decision, and that record is what the Turkish press reported from. The ground given in every case is “yasa dışı bahis” (illegal betting). The law behind it is Law No. 7258 on the regulation of betting and games of chance in football and other sports competitions, Article 5, which applies the access-blocking provisions of Article 8 of Law No. 5651 (the Internet Law). The decisions themselves have not been published, so the exact provision each body relied on is not public. We found no statement on either platform from the Capital Markets Board (SPK).
July 16, 2026 (secondary reports): MPİ decision BODB-2026/10 ordered polymarket.com blocked for illegal betting. Cumhuriyet reported it on July 20, 2026 from the BTK record, as did LOG the same day, and EngelliWeb, the blocked-sites database of the İfade Özgürlüğü Derneği (Freedom of Expression Association) compiled from BTK records, logged it on July 16, 2026. France's regulator ordered its own ISP block of Polymarket on the same day. This is the entry shown as Blocking order in the timeline below. The BTK record is behind a captcha, so we could not read the primary entry ourselves.
July 21, 2026 (secondary report): Spor Toto decision 75790776-050.06/741 blocked polymarket.com a second time, according to an update to EngelliWeb's Polymarket entry. EngelliWeb is the only source we found for this decision, and we could not check the BTK record, so treat it with more caution than the July 16 decision. Kalshi: as of September 26, 2026 we found no official publication and no Turkish press report of any blocking decision naming kalshi.com; a single entry in the same NGO database could not be verified against the BTK record, so this page and the timeline record no Kalshi action.
Both decisions are administrative access blocks aimed at the website, not at users. Under Law No. 5651 an objection would go to a criminal judgeship of the peace (sulh ceza hâkimliği); we found no objection or court challenge by Polymarket, Kalshi or any user, no court decision, and no lifted or reversed action as of September 26, 2026.
The entries below are rendered from the same dated data as the main country table, newest first. Each row shows the date, the authority as it names itself, the type of action, the platform it concerns and the source with its type.

Public regulator, court and police actions concerning Polymarket and Kalshi in Turkey, as of 2026-09-24. Not legal advice.
This section reports what the law and the authorities in Turkey have said about people who take part in these markets, and any enforcement against users that has been made public. It describes; it doesn't advise.
Turkish law provides penalties for players, not only operators. Article 5 of Law No. 7258 sets prison terms of three to five years for organising illegal betting and four to six years for giving access to betting offered from abroad, and paragraph (d) provides an administrative fine of 5,000 to 20,000 Turkish lira, imposed by the local governor's office, for playing bets based on sports competitions offered illegally (base amounts; the figures are re-valued each year). Whether paragraph (d), which is worded for sports-based bets, reaches Polymarket's or Kalshi's non-sport markets is not addressed in any decision, ruling or official statement we found. A law-firm note by Analitik Hukuk also points to Article 34 of the Misdemeanours Law (Kabahatler Kanunu), which provides a small administrative fine for gambling.
We found no fine, prosecution or bank restriction against a Polymarket or Kalshi user in Turkey. Turkish authorities regularly run operations against illegal betting that end in mass administrative fines, but none we found was reported as related to prediction markets. We found no statement from the Revenue Administration (Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı) on prediction-market winnings.
Two decisions against polymarket.com came within a week, on July 16 and July 21, 2026, each from a different monopoly body: MPİ for games of chance and Spor Toto for sports betting, which matches Polymarket's mix of non-sport and sport markets. We found no sponsorship, no statement from the Supreme Election Council (YSK) and no payment-provider statement naming either platform.
PolyKal is a read-only research site, and it does not restrict access by country, including from Turkey. Its public pages, including prices on both platforms, order-book depth, after-fee cost comparisons, the fee calculator, and large-trade and whale data, need no account. You don't need a VPN to use them.
Viewing public market data is not trading. PolyKal doesn't place orders, hold funds or give access to trading on either platform, and a restriction on Polymarket or Kalshi in Turkey still applies to trading there. Polymarket's help center says that using a VPN to get around its restrictions violates its Terms of Use, and Kalshi's Member Agreement excludes people in its restricted jurisdictions; getting around a block can also break local law. PolyKal doesn't help anyone get around them.
Start with the compare page, the fee calculator or large trades, or read how Polymarket works and how Kalshi works.
Turkey is one of 27 countries, plus the United States, that PolyKal tracks. The full availability table shows every country's status under each platform's rules and its regulator actions side by side, with the same dates and sources as this page, and its change log lists every edit we make.
Every entry is re-checked at least once a quarter, and sooner when a platform or regulator announces a change. The next scheduled full re-check is shown in the sidebar.
Access to polymarket.com is blocked in Turkey by administrative decision: MPİ decision BODB-2026/10 of July 16, 2026 (reported by Cumhuriyet on July 20, 2026) and, per EngelliWeb, Spor Toto decision 75790776-050.06/741 of July 21, 2026, both on the ground of illegal betting. Teknolojioku reported on July 21, 2026 that Turkish internet providers apply the block at the DNS and connection level. Polymarket's own rules don't name Turkey, so the block comes from the state rather than the platform. Whether this amounts to a “ban” in your situation is not something this page decides.
Kalshi's Member Agreement (fetched September 24, 2026) does not list Turkey among its 55 Restricted Jurisdictions; that describes Kalshi's own list only. We found no official publication or press report of a Turkish action naming Kalshi, and the one NGO database entry we found could not be verified against the BTK record, so this page records none. Not being on Kalshi's list is not the same as permission, and this page doesn't say whether trading is legal for you.
The blocking decisions are addressed to the websites and cite illegal betting. The law they rest on, Article 5 of Law No. 7258, also provides an administrative fine of 5,000 to 20,000 lira (base amount, re-valued annually) for playing illegally offered bets based on sports competitions, and Article 34 of the Misdemeanours Law provides a small fine for gambling. We found no statement by a Turkish authority or court on whether those provisions apply to prediction-market contracts on non-sport events, and no user who has been fined or prosecuted over Polymarket or Kalshi. This describes the law and the record; it is not legal advice.
The only ground on the public record is “yasa dışı bahis”, illegal betting. In Turkey, games of chance and sports betting are state monopolies held by Milli Piyango and Spor Toto respectively, and each body issued its own blocking decision in July 2026 under the access-blocking provisions of Law No. 5651. The decisions have not been published, so the detailed reasoning is not public; the press reports and EngelliWeb's entries are based on the BTK's record of the decisions.
Yes. PolyKal's pages are read-only and open from any country, including Turkey, without an account: current prices on both platforms, order-book depth, fee comparisons and large-trade data. Viewing data is not trading; PolyKal doesn't place orders, hold funds or give access to either platform, and the Turkish blocking decisions still apply to the platforms' own sites. See how Polymarket works and how Kalshi works.
No. Polymarket's help center says that using a VPN to get around its restrictions violates its Terms of Use, and Kalshi's Member Agreement excludes people in its restricted jurisdictions. Getting around a block can also break local law. You don't need a VPN to research these markets: PolyKal's prices, order books and fee calculator don't require one.

Every statement on this page rests on the sources below. Platform rules were checked against Polymarket's and Kalshi's own pages on September 24, 2026; regulator, court and police actions were checked against the sources listed on September 24–26, 2026. We re-verify this page quarterly.
Law texts: Law No. 7258, consolidated text (Lexpera legal database), Article 5. The BTK's site-query page (internet2.btk.gov.tr) holds the primary record of each decision but is behind a captcha and could not be read; we found no Milli Piyango or Spor Toto release.
Secondary reports: EngelliWeb (İfade Özgürlüğü Derneği): Polymarket erişime engellendi (July 16, 2026, updated with the July 21 Spor Toto decision); Cumhuriyet, July 20, 2026; LOG, July 20, 2026; Teknolojioku, July 21, 2026 (how the block is applied); Analitik Hukuk, law-firm note on illegal betting sites (penalties for players).
Platform documents (all countries): Polymarket Help Center: Geographic restrictions (updated August 14, 2026), Polymarket developer docs: Geoblock (undated), Kalshi Member Agreement (undated; fetched September 24, 2026) and Kalshi Help Center: trading from outside the US (updated March 20, 2026).
